Our staff

In accordance with Care Quality Commission requirements, all staff employed by Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland’s Home Care department are reference checked and undergo an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) before they start work.

Before undergoing any level of personal care or other regulated activity, staff have a full induction training programme including:

• health and safety

• first aid

• communication

• equality and diversity

• record keeping

• safeguarding

• moving and handling

Additional courses are also available to staff prior to starting to ensure that the delivery of care is of the highest standard. Our on-going training programme ensures that staff are kept up to date with best practice.
