Freedom of choice about where
you spend your
final days

End of life care helps you to live as well as possible in the time remaining to you and to die with dignity. At Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland we offer a holistic approach to care by looking after your non-medical needs and helping you decide when to call in a health professional. Our end of life care also involves your family and friends as they too will need practical and emotional support.

You may choose to receive care exclusively at home or you may want hospice day care with night time support at home. The end of life care we provide depends on your physical, mental and emotional needs along with your care preferences.

Our care workers can provide day time care including:

• your personal care and hygiene

• companionship if you live alone

• respite for your main carer, if you have one

• keeping you as comfortable as possible

• making sure you take your medication correctly

We also offer a night sitting service so you have someone there in case you need help or just want someone to talk to if you are having trouble sleeping.

If you’d like to talk to us about end of life care for yourself, a friend or family member, please contact us or complete our online online enquiry form and we’ll call you back.
