A friendly face with whom
to share some time

In later life people experience many life-changing events which can leave them feeling socially isolated. Retirement, moving home, losing a loved one or personal illness can all have an effect on your opportunities to socialise and your confidence to get out and about.

At Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland, our staff are able to provide companionship when you need it. It may be that you want help getting out to enjoy activities, events or sightseeing or you may want someone to come by for a coffee and a chat or to help you entertain friends.

Some men feel more comfortable with a male companion who may be as passionate about football, fishing, gardening or golf as they are which gives them some common interests to talk about. We employ both male and female staff and endeavour to choose someone to visit you whose company we think you’ll enjoy and who shares similar interests.

Please contact us if you’d like to understand more about companionship for yourself or a relative. You can also complete our online enquiry form and we’ll call you back.
